All class sessions are conducted in our actual dental practice facility.  The practice is equipped with all the latest state of the art technology and instrumentation.  These instruments are used to teach or demonstrate their use to the students.  Four operatories are totally dedicated to the training center function.  The training center operatories and computers are available to students and/or study groups, between Saturday classes, during normal business hours while we are seeing patients. 

These are the training center operatories:

Intraoral cameras are used to take very highly detailed, magnified photographs inside the patient's mouth.  Cracks, pits, cavities, gum condition, etc., are all very visible while displayed on TV or a computer monitor.

VITA EasyShade is a digital instrument that determines the shade of a patient's tooth.  Used for matching color shades to adjacent teeth for restorations.

The laser instrument is used for soft tissue management.  It is used to control bleeding and remove inflammed tissue.  It is also used to treat soft tissues such as canker sores and deep gingival pockets around teeth. 

The CEREC Acquisition Unit is used to acquire 3D images of the patient's teeth and to design Crowns, Inlays, Onlays and Veneers for single visit restorations.  A one day seminar is offered to teach the unique requirements that the Dental Assistant needs to know to work in a CEREC environment.

Digital X-Rays using the Dentrix Image office management system.  Students are taught digital as well as film X-Ray procedures and processes.

Each operatory has a computer for all digital office management and X-Ray purposes.

The Diagnodent device is used to digitally diagnose the tooth surface for cavities that may not be visible to the eye.  A reading in a fissure or groove of a tooth may indicate a digital threshold level indicating a cavity that needs attention.  This is an incredible instrument for early detection of tooth decay.

The sterilization area offers two high speed steam sterilizers for metal instruments.

Sterilization area has ultrasonic cleaning for instruments and an automatic handpiece lubricating device.
